The Obira Field is located in the western part of OML 89, offshore in the Western Niger Delta. Discovered by Chevron on September 5, 1988, through the drilling of the Obira-1 well, the field revealed two significant oil-bearing sands (B-03 and B-04) with net pays of 60 feet and 59 feet, respectively.
PPL 2009
PPL-2009 covers an area of 797 sq. km. and is situated in water depths of 1312 to 2178m. The block has full 3D data coverage. Block PPL-2009 is located east of the Nsiko and Aparo (OML 140)/Ofigbo Field in the western Niger Delta. It is part of the East-West trending early Miocene to late Oligocene structural trend of the north-western Niger Delta lobe.
