PPL-2009 covers an area of 797 sq. km. and is situated in water depths of 1312 to 2178m. The block has full 3D data coverage. Block PPL-2009 is located east of the Nsiko and Aparo (OML 140)/Ofigbo Field in the western Niger Delta. It is part of the East-West trending early Miocene to late Oligocene structural trend of the north-western Niger Delta lobe.

The Nsiko and Aparo (OML 140)/Ofigbo Field was discovered in 2003, a further discovery well was drilled at Nsiko South-1 in 2015. The field remains undeveloped. No wells have been drilled in PPL-2009, however there are untested plays associated with the margins of shale diapirs and thrust bodies.

The field's development strategy involves phased drilling and the use of advanced production technologies to maximize recovery. With its high-quality reservoirs and effective trapping mechanisms, the field holds significant production potential, making it a key hydrocarbon asset in the Western Niger Delta.

OUR OPERATIONS

The Obira Field is situated in the western part of OML 89, offshore in the Western Niger Delta Sedimentary Basin. The nearest production facility to the Obira Field is the Ajapa Field, located approximately 42 km southeast within OML 90.

It is bounded to the north by OML 91 and to the south by OML 136. The field spans a surface area of 71.8 km². The entire field is covered by 3D seismic data, which was initially acquired and processed by Chevron in 1996 and later reprocessed as a Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM) in 2005.

The development strategy focuses on achieving first oil. This phase includes drilling new wells, installing an Early Production Facility (EPF) for extended well testing, and acquiring data to reduce uncertainties.
